Adding Some Creator/Content Friendly & QOL Features To Replays/Training Mode#503

W

Hey! The system that Rivals 2 has with helping make content is already so good compared to other titles. I don’t want to sound ungrateful at all, but I have some suggestions I gathered from talking to other creators/editors etc.

-A flat stage toggle for training mode or a FD stage in general.
*The reason for this is some moving shots using green screen mode can get difficult to do for taller/bigger characters like Loxodont because the platform on the stages can get in the way. The usal work around is to either time the platform moving out of frame on Forest or use the middle area in Merchant Port. It would be nice to have just a flat stage to make it easier and without having to worry about platform getting in the way.

-Toggle Invisibility
*It would be great to be able to make either one character or both be able to invisible so that it will be easier to get some action shots + also be able to get raw green screened particle effects. Stressed part would be amazing to just be able to select if player 1

-Toggle Particle Effects
*This was a feature in Smash Ultimate system where you can actually turn off particles + hit effects which gives the ability to be able to show off a visual of someone getting hit without all the particles getting in the way blocking everything. It also would be like to avoid the hit effects as well. Like during a throw/pmmel, the victim of the throw will glow a yellow. During a hit the person getting hit will flash white or when you tech roll they will glow white

-Dolly Cam QOL
I know the devs have access to an advanced version of the camera and my first wish woudl be able to have access to that cause the one screen shot I got to see it wow it looked so cool (ESPECIALLY BEING ABLE TO SEE THE CAMERA PATHING) But until then, some QOL changes could be really helpful. The first one is being able to move to the next keyframe. I swear that this used to be in the game, but got replaced with something else. There aren’t enough buttons on the controller to support all the features, but that’s what the keyboard is for! This would be really helpful to have this back.
The second thing that would help a ton is seperate the add key frame + edit keyframe buttons. If two key frames are a tad too close, it won’t let you place one, instead forcing you to edit the closest keyframe. Some shots I have attempted to do require teh camera to move fast to keep up and it sucks to have to guess and over shoot a keyframe to hope that it will be fast enough. Seperating these two functions via keyboard will make this a non issue. Third is a MUCH more advanced thing but being able to change the ‘smoothness’ of going from keyframe to key frame such as ease in, ease out, linear, etc. Not needed but would be cool.

-Replay Crashing + Keyframes
This is something Ive accepted. It’s part of it and I know the devs are working on it. My one big gripe however is if the replay crashes during Dolly Cam Mode. It will save ALL the Keyframes, but it will no longer appear visibly on the timeline at the bottom of the screen. I’m glad it saves. Im just more so miffed that how difficult it gets. I think this is the same after you quit out of a replay? Im not sure if I remember.

Once again, I cannot stress how GOOD the replay and camera system is. It’s legit a blessing and makes the creative process for the game so enjoyable. It is just missing a few things that could really change the game and make the process more efficient.

Big agree, I have a little redeem where a few green screened characters drop onto stream and beat me up for a bit, and being able to have an invisible appointment for the sake of the hit effects would be really nice to have
