Slade/floorhug issue#388

A

“ Oh I heard people don’t like playing against Slade’s items too much, ok, I will go for more close range !

Oh no, my side-B, my rapid jab and my spaced tilts all got punished directly or indirectly by floorhug, and i’m now in disadvantage ! Guess i’ll go back to glide-tossing and throwing things ! “

I just had this train of thought a few times playing online and I get the point of floorhug, but I think that a “ weaker “ character with a normal range and that isn’t going to do anything special if you just hold shield a bit, as opposed to the giant Forsburn fstrong, Lox tilts or Zetter entire kit, should have stronger options to go for to beat “ holding down and spaming tilts out of shield “ if you want him to play in a more interactive way

Genuine questions if you have time to answer, would side-B 1 beating floorhug represent an issue in your opinion ? Even if it means losing something else, but i’m really curious about your opinion on side-b’s strength and utility

SideB1 recovers quickly enough to dash away from a fh-reversal on reaction and SideB2D beats grab attempts. This move is designed to not be a fh-beater because of how versatile and powerful it can be.
He has Rapid jab and Dtilt as direct floorhug counters already

if you’re spacing to not get grabbed on your d-tilt/jab, down-tilt often don’t connect fully, and a few characters can squeeze a floorhug down-tilt on rapid jab, and are you sure floorhug down tilt from like Clairen doesn’t outright beat side-B 1 ?

Like, my complaint isn’t about Slade not having “ intended “ solutions to floorhug, but rather, are those solutions working in the first place

If a few of Slade moves were working just a tad better I would be really fine with him tbh, and Side-B is nice on floaty chars but it’s nothing crazy on a lot of opponents imo
