I know you had to fire your environment artists, but it could be done by reusing assets.

Both Mecha events’ respawn platforms could be enlarged to serve as the terrain. The music would be the trailer themes (most important part). And during the last stock, Mecha characters appear and fly around (severely darkened so they don’t get confused with the actual fighters).
