Genuinely WHAT is your problem with Clairen and Zetterburn? Why do they have two mecha skins?#361

I need to know at this point because the bias with these two character has pushed beyond the balance of the game. There are a thousand posts across every Nolt for this game you’ve ignored about how overtuned these two characters are and how unfun to fight they are, but balance is one part of many with a game like this.

So why are these characters now ALSO getting multiple skins for the same theme when more than half the roster doesn’t have a skin for that theme? The development pipeline has slowed down due to layoffs and we’re getting five skins every three months; why are two of those five skins characters who already have mecha skins? And why is it the two characters that already get preferential treatment in the game’s balance?

I play Fleet and I own every Fleet skin available in a bundle. Fleet hasn’t received a single skin in the entirety of 2026 so far. It’s possible there’ll be a mid-month bundle for this event, but last season didn’t have one so that’s up in the air. I could not give you money if I wanted to unless I was to throw it away on cosmetics I’ll never use due to them being on characters I don’t play. Why are your priorities, with such a small number of skins being able to be made, to give Clairen and Zetterburn each a second mecha skin over a character who has not gotten a skin this year? I’m not just complaining about Fleet not having a skin in this event—if it was Gouie, Forsburn, Ranno, Galvan and La Reina or something similar then I’d be disappointed but accept that other characters got priority. The reason I’m upset is that it’s characters that already have mecha skins getting more of them. I’m sure Galvan fans, Maypul fans et al could feel just as upset for this reason.

Are there ulterior motives to giving Clairen and Zetterburn such INSANE favoritism in so many different aspects? I desperately want to know the reason for Clairen to not only go unchecked for years at this point, but to receive her 20th skin in an event where she’s already represented while she’s left unchecked. At this point I am baffled, and if there’s some secret meta reason for it to at least ease my mind please let me know.

I never comment on this stuff but this sentiment I think has gotten a bit too unhinged so here we go.

for those that don’t know Zetterburn and Clairen are two of the most played characters in the game. In some seasons they are the two most played. They are the characters who closest resemble other platfighter characters. It makes sense that the captain falcon spacie is one of the most played characters, sell the most skins, does well in tournament. It makes sense the spacie statted marth move having character does the same. Loxodont is also up there for playtime amongst the playerbase and I don’t see ANY posts like this.

Completely ignoring the ridiculous statements around balance(when clairen has had more adjustments then any character in the game potentitally if not tied with like Kragg i didn’t double check this but i know she is VERY high on changes)

This is a live service game that has a single goal above all else, to make money. The most played characters in these games will ALWAYS get more skins to feed the players. Every live service game does this whether its league of legends, overwatch, marvel rivals yada yada yada

Yes Fleet hasn’t got a skin this year because she got SO MANY skins last year and especially a lot of really nice ones! She was eating real good and sure it sucks but cmon maybe just ask nicely or maybe pitch some fun ideas here on the nolt board! Yes it would be cool if she got mecha fleet and I’d love Mecha Olympia but the ask isn’t there right now so we just gotta wait! maybe in the next wave or maybe later this month or next like you said. The devs have also had it a lot harder since having the shrink the team and this post REALLY just seems incredibly disrespectful to the fact that the number 1 priority is paying the bills.

To act like there is some kind of conspiracy around not adjusting the characters, favoritism, etc etc etc is just genuinely unhealthy and if you think this way please consider stepping away from the game and talking to a professional.

I strongly urge anyone who feels the way this poster does to take a step back from the game and evaluate their relationship with gaming as whole. If you are getting this worked up, offended, angry, and feel the need to actually post like this on a direct line of feedback to the devs you need to find a healthier outlet.

We are lucky to have the nolt board as a direct way to provide feedback and give fun suggestions to the game and using the platform to behave like this is completely unacceptable.

I won’t be interacting with this post further in any capacity so I hope anyone who reads this can take this as an example on how not to use this platform and we can just move forward as a community.

I can understand having frustrations with how some characters play, but the general tone of this post and insinuating there’s some nefarious ulterior motive makes you seem a little entitled an unserious. It may not be your favorite way to play, but there is counter-play to both clairen and zetter. And, contrary to popular belief, they have had a lot of meaningful nerfs since launch. I’m not saying all of your criticisms are invalid, I just think you’ll catch more flies with honey than vinegar, so putting a little more thoughtful perspective in your post will make addressing your issues a little easier, while also not making the devs feel bad for just doing their job

i agree, that this post is a bit too much but the devs fumbled so hard with this game by not listening to what a majority wants from the very first day of closed backer beta, that i also can understand the frustration of some people and the need to vent it.
