Console release will inevitably be huge for this game, and with console release there will be a greater emphasis on local play vs primarily online. There’s a few small QoL things I believe should be added before then that would be nice to have in a PC environment but would feel very odd if they’re missing on a localized console experience.
Character XP gain for P2, P3, P4 on local and online modes. If someone plays locally with a friend they currently can’t both experience growth for their characters. Rivals 1 allowed all human participants to get XP and coins. If I’m bringing a friend on board they should be rewarded the same way I am for their character so they get the same unlocks at a similar pace.
Player Tag customization instead of online profile. The new banners and titles are great, but they along with the player icons should be tied to the Player Tag rather than just the whole online profiles. The UI looks great online and offline but it’s a shame that local players won’t be able to customize their icon and title when they’re facing head to head. In addition this also encourages players to grab more of these items from the shop because it’s something they can share with their friends and not just use on themselves or just a single instance of either.
1v1 Crews UI rework. It’s a bit confusing to set up squad strike right now where you only have 2 player but want multiple characters for each. There should be a few more tweaks with this mode to make selecting characters a much easier time.
Would like to know anyone else’s changes or additions they’d like to see before console release that would make the game feel more rich or thoughtfully done.

-Link player tag with account: might be obnoxious to set up, but being easily able to pull up my controls AND have access to my skins on my friend’s setup would be sick.
-Match modifier presers/customization: This keeps getting asked for, feels like an easy W
-Some sort of co-op mode: Abyss Mode was PERFECT for hanging out with less experienced friends and getting them uses to the game
-More items/casual stages: this game needs to feel like a real massive box of toys when casual players first open up free-for-all, that first impression is gonna be really important
-Single-player modes and minigames: I know we’re getting story mode, but mutli man smash, event matches, home run contest, all star mode, etc all make for great offline activities and will help players learn the game before taking it online

“Console release will inevitably be huge for this game” people also said the same about the “fun for all” update…

@Zoolz8l there’s plenty of people with interest in this game that have console without a PC powerful enough to run it. Console release should be coming with optimization and QoL features that improve the PC retention as well. Other devs have shown the power of a “second” launch on a new platform I’d be more surprised if it wasn’t a second wind for this game.
