Gouie's rib produces two clearly different tones?#2

In version 1.7.0, when Fleet plays Gouie’s skeleton like a xylophone, she strikes the same rib in succession, yet she produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is a magic xylophone, or something?
