Orcane change feels awful#138

D

Putting my hat in the ring, 2 suggestions I’d go with instead:

Orcahop increases endlag of teleport repeatedly, resetting once orcane touches the ground. This gives orcane the slippery out of jail free card in scenarios they immediately pop puddle but actually rewards the opponent for rinse repeating him offstage first.

Make puddle disappear if an airborne opponent lands into it. Like splashing puddles irl! Makes a great mixup where orcane CAN pop bubbles to beat it but opponents can remove puddle if it’s nearby on stage while orcane is in hitlag sent offstage.

Whichever way it’s cut, the current change whilst i think doesn’t make Orcane much worse does really lessen what he can do with puddle outside of disadvantage. Strings into up b or using puddle as a combo extender rather than opener is less likely due to the timer. I do wonder how data driven these nerfs are because it is very alienating as someone who’s stuck with the game over about 2 years.

Deleting puddle with jumps/landing is lowkey genius, because the interaction would be a lot more one sided if you could just walk on a puddle to delete it. And the mixup of popping bubbles as counterplay works way more intuitively against an airborne opponent as opposed to just walking on it.
